CONTEMPORARY DANCE 1 PROGRAM
Class Information
Name : Contemporary Dance 1
Age : 10 and above
Day : Thursdays (starting from 9 April)
Time : 6:30PM – 7:45PM
Teacher : Ms Phylicia
This class offers a wonderful opportunity for our students to broaden their movement vocabulary and deepen their artistic expression. Contemporary dance complements ballet training in many meaningful ways:
Develops greater versatility and adaptability in movement
Strengthens musicality, dynamics, and expressive quality
Enhances coordination, fluidity, and use of the upper body and spine
Encourages creativity and confidence in performance
This course is especially valuable for dancers who may wish to take part in competitions or pursue more advanced training in the future. Exposure to contemporary dance is increasingly important, as many platforms now require both ballet and contemporary components. We believe this addition will greatly enrich our dancers’ training and artistic growth.
Class Structure
This program is “Open Class” style, where each session may vary slightly to provide variety in training and encourage different aspects of movement.
At the same time, we hope to offer greater flexibility to parents in terms of scheduling and commitment. As families are already making a strong commitment to their ballet training, we would like to extend this programme as an additional opportunity that can be adapted more easily to individual needs.

As the ballet program remains the top priority, students are required to continue a minimum of 3 ballet classes per week. This programme is offered as a flexible yet structured package designed to support consistent training.
